Zula Restaurant
There it is, cascading its flawless green silken consistency ever so gently down the sides of a 27-ounce glass. It's the Zula Restaurant healthy green smoothie you've been hearing about; and its time for you to welcome the thick icy blend of local pineapple, cilantro, lemon and honey to spellbind you, just as it's done to thousands of Santa Teresa beachgoers since 2004.

Each meal leads with a small bowl of pickled cabbage, cauliflower and carrots for munching, just as you'd find on the streets of Israel. One of the best breakfasts Zula's serves is the Shakshuka, $8, two eggs cooked in tomato-garlic sauce, served with hummus, mixed salad, potato wedges and one homemade pita round. Surely you'll be stuffed after that, but take a smoothie anyway — perchance the coco ho, $4, banana, coconut and pineapple.
For lunch or dinner, get the Mediterranean staple, falafel plate, $8, made up primarily with five extra-crispy garbanzo, parsley, cilantro, onion and garlic rounds, served with a scoop of Zula's signature hummus, creamy coleslaw, mixed lettuce salad, potato wedges and a pita round. Pick a smoothie to have with this one, too — we say go for the tahini, $5, blended with banana, granola and milk.
And who says you can't have dessert after you have a sweet smoothie…not Zula; so also have the malabi, $5, Middle Eastern milk pudding with cream mousse, rose syrup, peanuts and shredded coconut.
