The Bakery
Europe's not the only place with a cute little bakery right on the side of the street – Santa Teresa's got that too. Drive right down the main drag of Santa Teresa and you'll know exactly which bakery we mean – mostly just because its name gives it away.
read more closeThe Bakery's always got a line of hungry vacationers sniffing after its sweet donuts, funky breads, creamy passion fruit cheesecake, salty pretzels, flaky empanadas, cookies with dulce de leche, and way more.
Arrive as you are to the Bakery - wet from surf or sandy from sun tanning - it's all good. Order from the pastry bar, take a seat at any of the tables inside, or keep catching sunrays on the outdoor patio for an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner.
For breakfast, we say you get the "Here Comes The Sun" smoothie, $4, with banana, papaya, lemonade, fresh orange juice and ginger – and pair it with the TLV Breakfast $10 with two eggs of your choice, finely chopped salad (shredded carrot, cucumber, tomato, red onion), side of tahini, slices of sourdough focaccia, olive tapenade and a mini brownie. Yeah, you read that right – a brownie for breakfast!
Then, make sure you really prove you're a healthy eater at lunch time and stick with the Roots salad, $8, with beets, carrots, radish, green onion, fresh herbs, dried cranberries, walnut, sunflower seeds, grated Parmesan and lime vinaigrette.
Okay, just kidding, have more carbs and order the Capra Trammezini, $8, triple decker sandwich on whole wheat bread with homemade sundried tomato spread, goat cheese, seasoned eggplant spread, spinach, basil and walnut, served with potato wedges sprinkled in rosemary or salad with lettuce, carrot, tomato, cabbage, and onion.
You can pick your bread type – there are about 1,000, or at least it feels that way when you're trying to choose: whole wheat bread, French mini baguette, focaccia, and more baked fresh daily. Speaking of daily, we'd recommend making a daily habit out of The Bakery's passion fruit cheesecake, $5, and Americano coffee, $1.80. But don't get addicted like we did.
Ambiance
But seriously, you can't miss this place — it's the cute one with the big windows on the side letting you peer in at the mouthwatering pastry counter – that is, if you can see past the excited crowds inside. Also, watch out for Monday nights because beachgoers go crazy for the Monday Madness all you can eat pizza nights.
