Kasava
When gluten-free called, Kasava answered. Kasava daily bakes artisan bread, burger buns, crostinis, bagels, hash browns and sweet pastries with cassava (also known as yucca root or tapioca), enlightening Santa Teresa's already health-conscious community with even more wholesome vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free foods that are actually yummy — which let's admit, can be hard to find.

Follow suit at lunchtime with the Bandolero (bandit) burger, $10, bacon, pepper jack cheese, pico de gallo, chipotle mayo, served with a side of cassava (yucca root) fries and a cilantro aioli dipping sauce. Kasava also has a salad bar, for those of you craving veggies.
Be sure to browse the pastry case for something sweet, a brownie with peanut butter, $5, topped with ice cream. Also, pick one of the fresh-pressed juices, $2, passion fruit-basil, or tamarind-ginger to supplement your nutritious meal.
