Day 1: Arrival
Fly into San Jose’s Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) and get whisked away to your mountaintop honeymoon suite in the Central Valley. Break open the bottle of champagne that awaits and then spend the afternoon exploring your tropical hideaway. As the sun sets, enjoy a romantic dinner at the hotel restaurant or, if you’ve planned a special evening, have dinner brought to your room.
Day 2: Whitewater Rafting to Arenal
A private shuttle transports you to the whitewater rafting river of your choice – the beginner-friendly Class II-III Balsa River or the electrifying Class III-IV Toro River. After an exhilarating two to four-and-a-half hour river run, enjoy a relaxing lunch with fellow rafters before departing to your Arenal hotel. Settle into your volcano-view honeymoon suite and then head out to soothe sore muscles at Arenal’s restorative hot springs.
Day 3-4: Choose Your Own Adventure
As the adventure capital of Costa Rica, Arenal promises a variety of adrenaline-pumping activities to help you create lifelong memories. Dive head-first into an exciting world of waterfall rappelling, canopy tours, and bungee jumping, or ease in slowly with cave spelunking, ATV tours, or an extreme hike to the Celeste River.
Day 5: Ocean-view Luxury
Trade the fiery volcano for Manuel Antonio’s aquamarine waters and white-sand beaches. A perennial favorite among honeymooners, the area is home to astounding natural beauty and exciting adventures. Check out your ocean-view honeymoon suite before exploring the hotel’s manicured grounds and hiking down to a semi-private beach.
Day 6-7: Ocean Exploration
Explore the land and sea around you – enjoy caving at Damas Island, hiking through Manuel Antonio National Park, and scuba diving and snorkeling off the white-sand coast. No trip to Manuel Antonio would be complete without a sunset sail – cruise in style aboard a beautiful sailboat, enjoy gourmet snacks, and watch the orange sun paint the sky above.
Day 8: The Great Outdoors
Head down to Drake Bay, a town cradled in the hills above the verdant coastline of the Osa Peninsula. Drop your bags in a gorgeous jungle room before heading out onto the hotel’s well-groomed trails. Bird and wildlife watching is superb here, so keep your eyes open for toucans, scarlet macaws, and lots of monkeys.
Day 9-11: Intense Nature
Discover the land that Natural Geographic calls “the most biologically intense place on earth” and get your adventure on. Take a vigorous hike to Corcovado National Park, go on a kayaking adventure to the Rio Agujitas, try your hand sport fishing in Drake Bay, or explore the ocean depths on a scuba diving and snorkeling tour at Cano Island.
Day 12: Departure
Take a shuttle or flight back to San Jose, where you’ll catch your return flight home or spend the night in the city.
