Ritmo Tropical Restaurant
More than a decade of consistent tasty food, multitudes of returning customers, and flavor fame across town: Ritmo Tropical Restaurant's doing some type of beneficent brainwashing with its thin crust pizzas, savory pastas, salty shaved meats and authentic Italian entrees — and we know that's more than just our mojito-buzzy mouths talking.

The whole town nearly mourns during the afternoon when Ritmo Tropical closes, rejoicing again over wine, beer and extra-minty mojitos, $6, when they open again at dinnertime. Did we mention that the mojitos are hypnotic and may just be the best ones in town? Because they are, and we wanted to make sure you know.
Absolutely anything off chef Carlos Giorgetti's dinner menu is spectacular, starting with a Mediterranean antipasto, $13, shaved Italian ham and salami plate, served with a side salad of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onions, cubed cheddar, black/green olives and balsamic vinaigrette.
When it comes to pizza, just go straight for the Parma, $13, tomato sauce, mozzarella, raw prosciutto and arugula, topped with grated Parmesan cheese. As for pasta, take advantage of fresh seafood in Mal Pais and order the spaghetti, $12, shrimp and seasonal white fish tossed in sweet and savory curry sauce.
Count on dessert to blow you away too, copa moreno, $6, scoop of vanilla ice cream with local bananas, chocolate powder and - as was the case with the mojito - a magical touch we aren't sure is just any ol' splash of rum.
Ambiance
Stools at the bar and chairs at wooden tables in the breezy restaurant fill up quickly, usually with families and large groups of friends amassed for their dose of Carlos' celebrated cuisine.
