Sabor Tico
Sabor Tico is a typical Costa Rican restaurant (called a soda) and a local hangout on the edge of town across from the Santa Elena soccer field. I showed up on a lazy Sunday afternoon to catch the weekly pickup game across the street. Around me, locals gathered on the steps and at the tables on the restaurant's patio to watch the game.

Sabor Tico serves all the Costa Rica typical dishes, plus of few of the specials like mondongo (beef stomach soup) and chifrijo (layered rice, beans, pork, pico de gallo and avocado).
Ambiance
The 15-year-old restaurant has wood-paneling and plantain bunches hanging from the walls. Outside, the patio has room enough for a few tables; perfect for watching the sunset or a local soccer game.
Service
Owners Olman and his wife Yanira are usually around to take care of guests. They're friendly but they don't speak English so it may be a good place to try out your Spanish – pura vida!
Price
Everything on the menu is about $5 to $6 dollars and it's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
