Camino Verde's a couple blocks up a dirt road behind downtown Santa Elena. The majority of the hotel's 21 standard rooms are located across the street from the reception building in a two-story hotel. The rooms, $40, vary in size, but most have enough space for one or two twin sized beds, a private bathroom, hot water and a Wi-Fi. The rooms are simple, but well maintained with clean sheets, floors and a place to hang some clothes.
Service & Amenities
The hotel serves breakfast (included in the room rate) in a café connected to the reception. The cafe has big glass windows overlooking the gulf and is made with an assortment of wood, cement and recycled glass bottles that refract the light across the room. A big flat-screen TV plays international news, music videos and anything else the guests ask for. The cafe also offers Wi-Fi, free calls to the US and free coffee and tea all day to hotel guests. The reception desk, part of the cafe, provides maps of the area and its staff gives a short introduction to Monteverde.
