The lodge’s office is just off of the main dirt road of Drake town and from there guests can find one ground level room and access two other rooms by a staircase, a short hike up some makeshift tire stairs leads to three detached bungalows making for a total of six rooms.
The Drake Rustic bungalow, $150 per night in the wet season (May-Nov.), includes a fully furnished kitchen with dishes, a refrigerator, microwave, gas stove and sink, as well as two twin beds and two full beds, a standing shower, fan, in room Wi-Fi and balcony with hammock and chairs.
About a 15-minute walk up the main dirt road from the main lodge, there is a private house available for short-term rental, The Cecropia House, sleeps up to four, $140 per night in wet season (May-Nov.), has a kitchen with dishes, filtered water, a refrigerator, microwave, stove and sink, a laundry room, two bedrooms with full size beds, A/C, a living room with a sitting area, Wi-Fi, cable TV and telephone, and a back deck with jungle views.
Services and Amenities
Next to the lodge’s main office, open 5 a.m. – 9 p.m., is a recreational area with books, games, and complimentary coffee, tea and filtered water that guest can enjoy. The lodge's breakfast of fresh fruit, fried eggs, gallo pinto and choice of toast or pancakes is served there from 5 a.m. – 9 a.m.
The owner, Emilio Gonzalez, is highly knowledgeable of Drake Bay and can help plan and arrange tours with the lodge’s two resident tour guides.
There is free, uncovered, dirt parking, and a laundry service for $6 per bag.
