Mono Verde
Mono Verde is one of the latest restaurants to hit Jaco's main street attacking the scene with a hip, minimalist style, cocktails and a lively tapas menu. The interior of the restaurant is simply designed with colorful paintings hung on white walls complimented with black furniture and décor. Outside on the patio, a projector screen hangs down playing music videos and the latest soccer games.
read more closeAt just a year old, Mono Verde found a niche in its specialty margaritas, always $2, that come in a variety of flavors like passion fruit, kiwi and blackberry with rims dusted in sweet chili, lime and/or salt.
The gnosh, fit for sunsets, snacks and happy hour, takes a playful approach to tapas with dishes like the Hawaiian-style tuna poke, $6, soaked in a mix of sesame oil and soy sauce with strawberries, grapes and apples for a savory, sweet and salty dish served with crostinis. The beef carpaccio, $6, comes in on the more traditional side of tapas with thin, rare slices of prime rib dashed with olive oil, capers, lemon, pesto, shaved parmesan and almonds.
The dinner menu is small and creative with items like the grilled chicken satay seasoned with cumin, paprika and garlic, sprinkled with sunflower seeds and served with a cup of honey-mustard, a colorful side salad and coconut-infused rice.
Ambiance
Like a contemporary art gallery, Mono Verde fashions a minimalist style complimenting white walls with black furniture and vibrant paintings. The outside patio sits on Jaco's main street, perfect for people watching or catching a football game on the restaurant's outdoor projection screen.
Service
The bar makes great cocktails and the servers will offer up some nightlife tips on Jaco (if it's not too busy).
