Just off one of the two trails that wind out of Tenorio Volcano National Park, you'll find heaping plates of arroz con pollo (fried rice with chicken) with thick, crispy tortilla chips, and even bigger casados (a choice of meat, rice, beans and veggies) made with freshly grilled pork chops, caramelized onions, fried plantains and a salad.
Sip on cold beer or enjoy fresh pineapple, mango, watermelon juice (or blend two together; or go out on a limb and try something unique to Latin America, soursop juice; a deliciously sweet and sour drink made from a fruit related to guavas.
