Confusione
Confusione's got a good thing going. Two words: Italian Tapas. We're talking mini thin-crust pizzas, gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms, antipasto platters and filet mignon Carpaccio. It also doesn't hurt that it's the only Italian restaurant in Dominical.
read more closeYou'll find Confusione at the southern end of Dominical alongside Hotel Domilocos serving steak tenderloin, seafood and pasta, but primarily tapas and appetizers like the shrimp flambé, $6, soaking in a brandy marinara sauce sprinkled with mozzarella and served with flatbread triangles, or the Alfredo pizzeta, $5; a thin-crust personal pizza layered with Alfredo sauce, four cheeses, pepperoni, red onion and mushrooms.
After tasting a few of the different tapas, move on to one of the popular entrees like the sautéed shrimp rolls, or, the shrimp and porcini mushroom penne, $9, in a mushroom cream sauce with parmesan cheese.
Ambiance
While the restaurant doesn't sport oceanside views, it's a comfortable open-air, Italian, tablecloth candlelight atmosphere without feeling like you need to dress in your Sunday best to sit down.
Service
It's a roll of the dice here, one night you can have amicable, attentive service and the next you may be ignored, your food left sitting on the expo line, or, worse yet they never turn on the pizza oven so they have to wait for it to heat up before baking (with no warning).
