Sobre Las Olas
Red wine, fresh pineapple and lady fingers sit together in wicker baskets on the bar at Sobre Las Olas. Behind them, liquor bottles lean against the trellis giving a cross-stitch view of Sobre Las Olas kitchen where chefs prepare fresh locally caught seafood and pasta. Outside, waves rap against the coral and volcanic sands of Playa Negra.

Our favorite however, was the steamed mussels, $10, in a spicy garlic white wine reduction served with crostini.
With the sound of the surf drumming in through the windows, it's hard not to choose the seafood entrees and Sobre Las Olas has a good selection that includes the nightly catch – like snapper, kingfish, and tuna – or Caribbean coconut curry tilapia filet, $17, served with either rice and Italian-seasoned vegetables or french fries. Besides seafood, Sobre Las Olas' main courses include beef, chicken and a variety of pastas as well as vegetarian options.
For dessert, dive into a slice of homemade tiramisu, $6; Marco's own recipe.
