Costa Rica's premiere sports fishing and eco-resort welcomes you with open arms. Head down the extended driveway leading up to the entrance of this 44-acre fisherman's paradise and stroll by their waterfall fountain and wooden crocodile statues. The real crocs are at a nearby lagoon, hence the name of the resort. Saunter into their air-conditioned lobby and find yourself being sung to during their warm check-in process, ensuring that you feel welcomed. This realistic customer-centric approach is the reason why so many have returned to this all-inclusive Puerto Jimenez gem during the last 15 years to book one of its 28 rooms or two houses.

The Spa at Crocodile Bay Resort

Crocodile Bay's 5,000 square foot luxury spa offers over 20 massages and beauty treatments to choose. From the tiled showers to the large, elegant waiting lounge, this is one of the few places in the Osa Peninsula where "luxury" will mean what you are used to back home, if not exceed it. Take your time and melt into the spa’s comfortable furniture as they serve you chocolate and wine, making you feel like the royalty that you really are.

You can customize your spa packages with one of the highly trained masseuses and physical therapists. We went with a deep "sports massage" designed to alleviate aching muscles and a "chocolate massage" which is just as delicious to your senses as it sounds. Warm melted chocolate is massaged into your skin as you slowly drift into deeper states of relaxation.

Other options include hot stones, Swedish, tropical fruit body wraps, aloe vera masks, volcanic clay, coconut scrubs, and other creative offerings infused with natural elements that rejuvenate your skin and spirit equally.

Conservation Efforts

The resort, in conjunction with The Costa Rican Fisheries Federation, FECOP, puts in an effort to teach conversation and the importance of the ocean's resources by educating the public, using circle hooks in their catch and release program, and combating the destructive practice of longlining. The fishing industry brings in an estimated $600 million a year, directly and indirectly, to Costa Rica, giving Crocodile Bay Resort a reason to take its conversation and educational efforts seriously.
