Rooms
Blue River features 25 wooden accented, 720 sq. foot (68 sq. m.) cabanas nestled within a sweeping 25-acre property facing the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. All cabanas fit up to 5 people and come with either two queen or king size beds with air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-refrigerator, satellite T.V., coffee maker, in-room safe, hair dryer, a terrace with a hammock and rocking chairs.

Blue River Resort's restaurant serves breakfast buffet style with a variety of choices including the staple dish of gallo pinto (rice mixed with beans), eggs to taste, ripped fried plantains, ham, sausage, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, milk coffee and orange juice. The Blue River Resort's restaurant also serves breakfast a la carte with a Tico breakfast that includes gallo pinto with all its side dishes or American breakfast.
Nearby the restaurant, you will find the tropical, hummingbird, and butterfly gardens and fresh water lagoon where you can check out caimans lurking out to the water surface waiting for a distracted bird; and an outdoor spa with two steam rooms fed by fumaroles (steam vents from volcano veins), one mud-mask area, showers and mineral hot springs open all day.
Cradled in the gardens, Blue River Resort boasts four hot spring soaking pools (one has a thatch roof to protect from the rain), one fresh water pool, one bullet waterslide, an indoor sauna, and a 900 square-foot (83.6 square-meter) gym (open 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.) with free weights, treadmills and bikes with T.V. and speakers. In addition, Blue River Resort provides spa services including massages, body wraps and other beauty treatments.
Blue River offers more than seven tours to explore the area on horseback, from the sky on a zip line or floating on rivers.
